Eldean Roberts

Eldean Roberts, 97, of Flatwoods, passed away peacefully August 20, 2021 in Trinity Station Retirement Community.

Ms. Roberts was born September 10, 1923 to the late John and Mary Smith Lambert.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Marvin E. Roberts; two sons, Marvin “Eddie” Roberts and Johnny Thomas Roberts; six brothers and sisters, Edward Lambert, Virgil Lambert, Clyde Lambert, Goldie Lambert, Ruth Sizemore and Madge Hennessey.

Eldean was an educator, beginning her career in a one room school house and retiring from the Russell Independent School System.  She was a member of the Shawnee Church of God where she served tirelessly until she was unable. She enjoyed volunteering for Meals On Wheels, Helping Hands and Partners In Pride. She was known for always wearing a smile and making those around her feel good. Eldean was loved by all and had the heart of a servant. She was also a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Associations and the Graveyard Grannies who would meet to walk around the cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Carman) Roberts; grandchildren, Mary Lollis Roberts, Justin Roberts, Aaron Roberts and Megan Brown; and four great-grandchildren, Jack, Blair, Beau and Atlas.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Greenup County Meals On Wheels at 807 Seaton Ave, Greenup, KY 41144.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Carman Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Stamper officiating.

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
