1921-2022

Dorothy Stevens, 100, of Flatwoods passed away May 20, 2022 in the Ashland Community Hospice Care Center.

Mrs. Stevens was born November 21, 1921 in Greenup to the late Amos and Mary Potter Cordle.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Stevens; brothers, James, Cecil, Paul, Matthew, Jess, Moses, Lesley, Eugene and Verley Cordle; sisters, Hattie Harrel, Perley Algeo and Callie Gire.

Dorothy was a former Surgical Nurse for Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital for 25 years. She was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the local Homemakers Club. She had a knack for hand quilting, gifting her beautiful quilts to several over the years.

She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy “Dottie” (Ronald) Browning; one grandchild, three great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Carman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00, Thursday at the funeral home.
