Dorothy Clifton, 91, of Ashland passed away May 28, 2021 in Woodland Oaks Health Care.
Ms. Clifton was born November 25, 1929 in Louisa to the late Okie and Ida Bell Castle.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby J. Clifton; one son, Bobby Richard Clifton; along with her special friend, Bill Moore.
Dorothy was a former seamstress at Stars Department Store and also did alterations from home. For over 20 years she volunteered in the Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital gift shop. Dorothy was also a five time Kentucky Colonel and a former member of the Greenup County Democratic Club. In her free time she enjoyed a round of golf and listening to Elvis and Bluegrass music. She was an active resident at Woodland Oaks and enjoyed socializing with friends up until the week she passed away.
She is survived by one daughter, Dottie (Joseph) Burke; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2021 at Carman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m., Friday at the funeral home.
