Donald Edward Jacobs

Just like that, life truly can change in the blink of an eye. Donald Edward Jacobs, 72, of Ironton, passed away December 13, 2020 in Kings Daughters Medical Center.

Mr. Jacobs was born September 16, 1948 in Baltimore, MD, to the late Rudolph and Helen Snoddy Jacobs.

He was a stern man but very quiet. Mr. Jacobs was loyal, kindhearted and loved his family more than anything. He was a hard worker and loved animals just about as much as he loved serving his country as a Vietnam Veteran, serving 20 years in the Air Force.

Parkinson’s slowly made Donald deteriorate. His bad days began to outnumber the good, but during the good days he gave it his all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years that knew each other since they were four years old, Barbara Jacobs; one son, Donald (Jo Ann) Jacobs; Sherrie Sweeney and Jennifer Spencer; grandchildren, Donald Jacobs II, Barbara Jacobs, Shara Smith, Derrick Spencer, Dreanna Spencer and Delaney Sweeney; one great-grandchild on the way; and one sister Patti Wolfe.
