Diane Lynn McWhorter

Diane Lynn McWhorter, 65, of Raceland passed away June 15, 2022 in King’s Daughters Medical Center.

Mrs. McWhorter was born September 14, 1956 in Ashland to the late Carl and Martha Lewis Tackett.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother Stanley Tackett.

Diane was a former store manager for the Portsmouth Giovanni’s. She enjoyed listening to music, especially the oldies. She loved looking for a good bargain while shopping and searching for a good piece of jewelry. When Diane had a few moments to herself, she could always be found with a book in hand. She also loved playing many games of cards for hours with family and friends, but the greatest joy in her life was spending time with her grandchildren and traveling with family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, William “Bill” McWhorter; two sons, Will (Rayna) McWhorter and John (Jessica) McWhorter; four grandchildren, Isaiah, Elle, Aubrey and Emory; along with four brothers, Allen (Sarah) Tackett, Wayne (Brenda) Tackett, Randy (Brenda) Tackett and Ronnie (Mary) Tackett.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Carman Funeral Home with Pastor Kenny Potter officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
