Connie Sue Manning Hilburn, 70, of Flatwoods, passed away May 7, 2019 at her residence.
She was born April 5, 1949 in Flatwoods, to Betty Lou Hensley Manning and the late James Alden Manning.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two aunts, Barb Manning Ragan and Betty Manning Ohlmeyer.
Connie was a graduate of Russell High School, Marshall University and Morehead State University; and went on to teach for many years. She loved to travel and be by the ocean. She was known as an excellent cook, and had quite the collection of cook books. When out she liked to be in stylish fashion; also she was an avid reader and loved to garden, spring being her favorite time of the year.
She is survived by one son, Mark (Eddy Jo) Hilburn; one daughter, Kristina (Joel) Richins; brother, Jim (Anita) Manning; sisters, Lois (Paul) Fluty, Rita (Tom) Williams; three nephews, Nick Fluty, Jared and Eric Manning; two nieces, Jessica Archuleta and Amanda Williams; beloved aunt and uncles, Doris and Talmadge Porter and Emory Ragan; along with numerus grand-dogs and cats.
In lieu of Flowers donations are suggested to AARF.
A celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m., May 11, 2019 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.
Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
