Clynice ‘Dean’ Sloan, 86, of Flatwoods passed away peacefully Saturday, March 12, 2022 at his home.
He was born June 17, 1935 in Wurtland, KY to the late Lonnie and Gertie Puckett Sloan. Dean retired from Armco after 38 years as an electrician. He also served in the United States Army, and a volunteer firefighter for the Flatwoods Fire Department. He was an avid UK basketball fan, and enjoyed hobbies such as camping and fishing. Dean was a very spiritual man and was a member and a Deacon of the Church of God of Prophecy in Raceland, KY.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years Donna Dillow Sloan, and one son David Sloan.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Davina (Earl) Arthur, one brother William (Lois) Sloan, one sister Reba (Earl) Kazee, six grandchildren; Justin (Cassie) Sloan, Derek (Sarah) Sloan, Lauren (Joseph) Bilyeu, Joseph Salyers, Adam (Brittney) Salyers, Rodney (Rachelle) Salyers, 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Funeral service will be held at Carman Funeral Home Friday, March 18th at 1:00 PM. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Caroline Cemetery.
