Byron Gale Phillips

Byron Gail Phillips, 64, of Flatwoods passed away June 17, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Phillips was born December 21, 1957 in Ashland to the late Ralph and Mary Edith Garthee Phillips.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters, Peggy Sue Phillips, Patricia Hall and Vicky Walker.

Byron was a former plant operator for Marathon, where he was known for is boisterous laugh by all that knew him. He was an avid reader and loved staying in watching a good movie cuddled up with the love of his life, Cindy. He was a loving and affectionate man with a kind heart who forgave all and never held a grudge. He never met a stranger and will be remembered by all he met.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Cindy Adkins Phillips; three sons, Larry (Jennifer) Smith, Josh (Dawn) Phillips and Joe (Tiffany) Smith; one daughter, Erin (Andy) Horsley; grandchildren, Weston Phillips, Garrett Smith, Jaxson Phillips, Breeanna Smith, Ben Horsley, Grady Phillips, Abigail Phillips, Adeline Phillips and Nicholas Horsley; one sister, Nita McKenzie; along with his fur-babies, Bruno and Belle and all his precious kitties.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2022 at the Russell First Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Gowin officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday at the Church.
