Billy L. Barker

Billy L. Barker, 88, of Flatwoods passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

Bill was born June 26, 1930 to the late John and Mayme Alley Barker.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers; a daughter in-law, Betty Barker.

He was retired from GTE after 37 years of service and also served in the Navy from 1948 to 1952.

Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Janet Burke Barker; four children, Danny Barker, Darrell Barker, Gary (Lisa) Barker and Rick (Sherry) Barker; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Pastor Chester Keathley officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
