Barbara Jean Gallion Young 81, of Flatwoods passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 in the Community Hospice Care Center.

Mrs. Young was born July 24, 1936, to the late Charles Lee & Emily Potter Gallion in Flatwoods.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Darrell Lee Young; brothers and sisters, Claudine Thomas, Eddie Gallion, Curt Gallion, Tootie Hardy and Gladys Bowling.

Barbara was a member of the Advance Memorial United Methodist Church. She retired from the Greenup Circuit Court Clerk’s Office. She loved to quilt and read.

Surviving are four children Susan (Jeff) Nichols, Darrell “Lee” (Debbie) Young Jr., Jamie (Jim) Darby and Julia A. DuVall; brother James A. (Linda) Gallion; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; along with many other special nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 pm, Monday, July 31 at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Community Hospice Care Center.

Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods has been entrusted with arrangements.
