Angie "Irene" Fultz

Angie “Irene” Fultz, 88, of Flatwoods passed away Sept. 12, 2019 at The Lantern at Morning Pointe.

Mrs. Fultz was born Oct. 23, 1930 to the late Russell and Vida Brown Stevens.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by four sisters, Augustine Bailey, Willa Dean Oney, Helen Rhea Fultz and Ella Ann Barker.

Irene was a member of the Wurtland Church of The Nazarene, for over 60 years, where she was given the nickname “The General” and she loved to sing and direct the choir. She took pride in her home and enjoyed doing housework. In her free time she enjoyed playing the guitar, banjo and playing hymns on the piano, her favorite being “How Great Thou Art”. Irene loved being with her family and traveling with them.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Johnny Fultz; one daughter, Kathy (Kenny) Large two sons, Tony (Kathy) Fultz and Brent (Angie) Fultz; grandchildren, Angela (Patrick) Newcome, Amanda Burnside, Matthew Whitt, Ashley Reed, Allison (Robert) Gilliam, Shannon Large, Morgan Large, Christian Large, Jason (Lyka) Fultz, Trevor Fultz, Tyler Fultz, Nikki (John) McVey and Cassie Fultz; great-grandchildren, Grayce, Johnathan, Alana, Alivia, Aaliyah, Tristen, Mylei, Milo, L. J., Jasmine; one brother Buell “Buckie” (Eula) Stevens; three sisters, Hope (Edward) Porter, Phoebe (Curtis) Frazier and Brenda (Bob) Yoak; and a host of other family and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at The Lantern at Morning Pointe for the excellent care Irene received.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, Sept 15, 2019 at the Wurtland Church of The Nazarene with Scott Hill and Kenny Large officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the Church.
