Alva Bryant, 70, of Russell, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Mr. Bryant was born May 11, 1948, in Pikeville, to the late Jesse and Carsie Bryant.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jason Bryant; and one sister, Nanna Howard.
Alva was a former Shift Foreman at Marathon. He loved to work on cars and watch westerns. He was known for his kind and calm personality and loved to joke with his friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janet Bryant; three sons, Lee Bryant, Travis (Staci) Bryant and Cody Bryant; three daughters, Kimberly (Troy) Clark, Christy (Brett) Cumpton and Rachel Bryant; two brothers, Eddie Lon Bryant, Jeffery Bryant; one sister, Ruthie Justice; seven grandchildren, Isaac May, Katie Poplin, McKenzie Burchett, Kyra Bryant, Jessy Bryant, Jacob Bryant and Alyssa Bryant; and four great-grandchildren, Lilly Burchett, Logan Burchett, Matthew Parsons and Marcus Bryant.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at Carman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Caroline Cemetery.
Visitation will be after noon Saturday at the Funeral Home.
