Ruby Dillow Adkins Lowe, 88, of Flatwoods passed away peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2012 at her home following an extended illness.

She was born in Raceland, KY on October 13, 1923 to the late Gordon C. and Mary Ball-Dillow. Ruby spent her entire working career in sales in downtown Ashland at Frank’s Shoe Store and Ashland Dry Goods.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Clarence F. Adkins in 2002 and her second husband Wayne Lowe in 2007.

Ms. Lowe leaves behind a loving family to mourn her passing including sons Tom Adkins and his wife Sue of Cincinnati, OH and Clarence Edward Adkins of Flatwoods as well as Vicki Johnson and her husband Ron and David Lowe and his wife Jerri all of Raceland; five grandchildren Aaron, Ian, Megan, Michelle and Lynn; three great grandchildren Lizzie, Ivy and Gunnar.

Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods has been entrusted by Mrs. Lowe’s family to handle final arrangements and has scheduled a graveside service conducted by the Rev. Jack Edwards on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

Ruby requested that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to your local Hospice Organization so that others may benefit from the various services they provide to patients and families.
