Ruth McLeod, 85, of Raceland passed away peacefully, Monday at her residence.

Mrs. McLeod was born Sept. 16, 1932 to the late Kenneth Yates and Bessie Blevins McFarlin in Carter County.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Clifford Eugene McLeod; step-father, Ollie McFarlin; Brothers Raymond, Leroy, Hairl, Gene, Randy, Leonard and Delmouse Yates; sister, Ramona McFarlin.

Ruth was retired from the Greenup County Libraries. She was an avid reader and quilter that loved to fish, play bingo and cards.

Surviving are her children Robin (Dennis) Deere, Holly (Bryan) Ross, and John (Donna) McLeod; grandchildren, Megan Cathey, Billie-Jo Loughry , Justin Deere, Haileigh Ross, Clifton Ross, Cassandra Hamilton, Christie Smith, Beth Deere, James Deere, Dennis Deere Jr.; great-grandchildren, Paige Harris, Brady Harris, Christian Harris, Izzy Harris, Erin Archie, Austin Archie, Shannan Smith, Emily Smith and Ethan Smith; sister Juanita (Don) Inskeep, 2 step-brothers and 4 step-sisters.

Graveside services will be at 12 pm, Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 in Rude Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.
