Phyllis Jean Haney, 79, of Flatwoods, passed away March 7, 2024, at her residence.
Ms. Haney was born December 10, 1944, in Salyersville, KY, to the late Jesse Caudill and Rosa Porter Forbes.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Workman, and Frankie Saferight; and special friend, Mike Devaney.
Phyllis retired from Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital as a dietary aid. She loved life and loved making people laugh. You would often find her pulling a prank on someone close by followed by her laughter. Her family was her pride and joy and when she had down time she liked to crochet and work with beads.
She is survived by two sons, Phillip Haney, and Darrell (Michelle) Haney; one daughter, Sheila (Sam) O’Neal; five grandchildren, Jessica Deirfield, Tyler Haney, Mia Reffitt, Samantha O’Neal, and Casey O’Neal; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Goldie Smith; along with a host of other close family and friends who will carry on her legacy.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Community Hospice.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Carman Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, March 11, 2024, at the funeral home.
