Patricia Ann Hartman, known to most as Patty, 55 of Flatwoods, gained her angel wings on Sunday, May 7, 2017 and is now flying high with our Lord and Savior.

Patty was born July 7, 1961 in Ashland, Ky. to Nellie and Isadore Bates.

She is preceded in death by her mother Nellie Morgan Bates, her father Isadore Bates, her sister Alice Bates, and her brother Steven Bates.

She was a 1979 graduate of Greenup County High School. To know her was to love her. She touched every life she encountered. She made you want to be a better person. She loved her family and greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She always made time for those she loved. She worshipped the Lord with all her heart. She was president of the Women’s Ministry at Raceland First Assembly of God and loved volunteering every chance she had. She loved to make a positive difference in someone’s life.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer (Ben) Spaulding and Samantha (Devan) Cleaver; Five grandchildren, Brayden Hartman, Addison Spaulding, Jordan Spaulding, Piper Cleaver, and one baby girl due in August; Six brothers, William Deering, Michael (Carol) Bates, Paul (Treva) Bates, Jerry (Jodi) Bates, Mark (Johnda) Bates, and Jimbo (Linda) Bates; Many nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own; And numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends including Sheryl Leadingham, Denise Hamm, and Shirley (Chick) Barker.  

Fly high sweet Momma, we will meet you by the River of Life.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at the  Raceland First Assembly of God in Raceland, KY with her beloved Pastor Chad Haggard officiating. Burial will be in Bates Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 6-9 pm at the church.

Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods is caring for arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Brayden Hartman, Jimbo Bates, Paul Bates, Jerry Bates, Mark Bates, and Michael Bates.
