Martha Jane Richards Clarke died peacefully, Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in Kingsbrook Life Care Center under Community Hospice Care.  Mrs. Clarke was born September 19, 1935, a daughter of the late T. R. Richards and Ann R. Richards.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her Husband James D. Clarke and brother William R. Richards.

Martha retired from First & Peoples Bank and Trust Co in 2016, after 35 years as President. She also served on the Bellefonte Memorial Gardens Board of Directors.

Surviving are her son, Buff Clarke and his wife, Gale of Russell; grandsons, James (Taylor) R. Clarke of Louisville, and Patrick B. Clarke of Russell; brother-in-law Gary Clarke of Westwood.

Funeral services will be at 3 pm Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Pastor Henry Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to service time at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank all of Martha’s nurses and caregivers for their special care at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center.

Casket Bearers will include Jim Bob Osman, Frank H. Warnock, Matthew Warnock, William J. Bentley, James Clarke, and Patrick Clarke.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Martha’s name to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY  41101.
