Lenora Louise Riffe, 79, of Flatwoods, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, in Harrodsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center, after a short illness.
She was born July 13, 1937, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of the late William "Bill" Hartley and Ruby Catherine Hartley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul "Bill" Riffe; and son, David Matthew Riffe.

She grew up in South Charleston, W.Va., and was 1955 graduate of South Charleston High School. Louise spent a lot of time at her grandparents farm in Oldtown. While growing up there, she met Bill and married him July 13, 1955, at Meadows farm in Oldtown. They raised their family in Flatwoods and she lived there until October 2016.

She worked for Polan's Jewelers for many years before becoming the Secretary for First Baptist Church in Flatwoods, where she worked until she retired. Louise was a member of First Baptist Church of Flatwoods and Greenup County Homemakers. She was excellent at designing floral arrangements and multiple crafts, that she enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, William Paul "Bill" Riffe Jr. and wife Pam of Lancaster and Mark Gregory Riffe and wife Michelle of Nicholasville; a daughter-in-law, Fonda Riffe of Ashland; a twin sister, Norma Jean Riffe of South Charleston; five grandchildren, Ashleigh Perry, Taylor Riffe, Brian Riffe, Dave Cornett and Sarah Cornett; and many nieces and nephews.

A service to honor her life will be at 2 p.m Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Flatwoods with Pastor Ken Holden officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
