Joseph Harold Hassler,91, of Russell, KY., passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, KY. He was born in Buffalo, NY., January 7, 1926 a son of the late Harold and Helen Dooling Hassler.

Joseph retired from Ashland Oil, he was a member of Holy Family in Ashland , KY., and a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran, was a lifetime member of Cross Creek Country Club in Fort Myers, FL., where he was the former President of the Board of Directors. He loved to Travel, Golf, and spend time with his family and friends.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca Pike, Aunt Margaret Simpson and Uncle Gilbert Simpson.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Joyce E. Hermann Hassler, two sons James (Eileen) Hassler of Raceland, KY., and Timothy (Debra) Hassler of Russell, KY., three grandchildren Amy (Brian) Barker, Sharon (Cody) Bates and Joseph Hassler, three great grandchildren Isabela Barker, Ava Barker and Charlotte Bates.

At the family’s request there will be a memorial service at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Kentucky.
