Jimmy Swindell of Russell passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017 at his home with his daughter and granddaughter at his side. The son of the late Seth and Anna May Sawyer Swindell, born Jan. 8, 1921 in Princeton, W.Va.

His preceded in death by his wife Mabel.

Left with fond memories are his daughters, Joan Allen and Peggy (Leon) Williams; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Jimmy retired from the C&O Railroad in 1981. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was also a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ashland.

There will be a private family funeral service.

A memorial service will be at a later date.
