Helen J. Osborne Snedegar 93, of Russell passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Woodland Oaks Nursing Facility.

Mrs. Snedegar was born May 28, 1924 to the late Earl and Emma Osborne in Russell.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Creth Snedegar and sister Eloise Carter, and her beloved nephew Brian Snedegar. .

Hellen was a retired teacher for the Russell Independent School System and a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. She was a member of the Bridges Christian Church, a former Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Eastern Star 144, and was a volunteer for Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Helen served on the auxiliary board for the Kings Daughters and Sons Home for the Aged. Also, she was a member of the Greenup County and Kentucky Teachers Associations.

She is survived by nephews, C. H. (Brenda) Snedegar, and Bill (Janet) Snedegar; sister-in-laws, Helen B. Snedegar, and Doris Snedegar; great-nephews Stephen Snedegar, and Creth Snedegar; great-niece, Katie Monroe,  along with many nieces and nephews loved by Helen.

Funeral Services will be at 1 pm Sat, July 15, 2017 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 11 am Saturday at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Bridges Christian Church, or the Community Hospice Care Center.
