Ethel Leola (Massacar) Quackenbush passed away on November 3, 2017 at age 97 in Ashland, KY.

She was born on December 16, 1919 in Hamburg, NY to Clarion R and Ada R Massacar.  She married Robert P Quackenbush on January 14, 1946.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert (1990), her son Brad (2016), and sisters Clarice Schoepflin (2004), Grace Hoover (1987), Harriet Hardy (1993) and Jessie Alta Noble (2010).

She is survived by Connie (Steve) Wiggin, Barbara (Tim) English, Nancy (Joe) Douglass, Steve (Marlys) Quackenbush, David (Jackie) Quackenbush and Scott (Lori) Quackenbush, her daughter-in-law Linda Quackenbush, 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She has always been active in Christian ministries.  She graduated Philadelphia School of Bible in 1940.  She taught Kids Klub (a ministry to kids) throughout the 1960s to 1980s and Sunday School whenever the opportunity was there.  She attended Temple Baptist Church after she moved to Ashland, KY in 1999.  Her life verse is John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give it to you.”

She asked that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Kentucky Mountain Mission, P.O. Box 588, Beattyville, KY in her honor.

Her memorial service will be at Temple Baptist Church at 124 Reid St in Flatwoods, KY on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00am.
