Elfreda Short Greene Hensley, 85, of Ashland passed away January 2, 2018 in Oakmont Manor.

Mrs. Hensley was born July 20, 1932 in Flatwoods to the late John and Manerva Kirk Short.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Marvin Hensley; one son, Robert Allen Greene; two daughters, Connie Sue O’Neal and Sheena Thomas; first husband Robert Greene.

Elfreda was a member of the Danleyton Baptist Church. She loved playing guitar, piano, going camping but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are two sons, Raymond Hassell (Francis Sue) Greene and Charles Rodney (Drema Sue) Greene; 11 grandchildren; brother, Winston (Linda) Short; sisters, Louise Salyers and Francis (Charles) Adams; along with a host of great-grandchildren and other family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 pm, Friday, January 5, 2018 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Burial will be in Short White Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 4, 2017 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
