Dwayne David Willis

Dwayne David Willis, 59, of Flatwoods, passed away March 31, 2024, in King’s Daughters Medical Center, where he was able to save two lives through the gift of kidney donation.

Mr. Willis was born April 4, 1964, in Russell, to Ronnie and Mae Hensley Willis.

Dwayne was a therapist and mental health specialist. Over the years he found his passion in helping others, especially children and adolescents. He was an author, self-publishing multiple books. Dwayne had a animated personality that was filled with fun facts, trivia knowledge and a love for all things SciFi. He loved talking to people and he enjoyed a good debate about politics.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie, and Mae Willis, he is survived by one daughter, Emily Willis; one son; Ian Willis; one grandson, Luke Joseph; along with one sister, Tonya (Larry) Deborde; his former wife of many years, Nanette Felty Willis; along with a host of other close family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M., Thursday, at Carman Funeral Home.
