Elva Witten Willis, 93, of Flatwoods, KY passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Willis was born September 29, 1920 to the late Earl Witten and Elizabeth Bentley Witten Vaughn and was raised by her father and step-mother, Carrie Artis Witten.

Elva was the widow of Lloyd A. Willis who passed away on November 3, 1999. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Willis had two daughters, Carol Lee Willis and Donna Sue Willis who preceded her in death as infants. Also one great-grandson, Tyler David Baldridge, preceded her in death in 2010. Elva had several siblings who preceded her in death, two sisters; Elsie Witten Willis, Louise Vaughn Ratliff and five brothers; Elmer Witten, John Edgar Witten, Millard F. Witten, Elwood Witten Vaughn, and Bill Vaughn.

She is survived by one brother Jerald (Joyce) Witten, of Houston, TX and a sister-in-law Patty Stephens Witten, of Flatwoods, KY who have always been like a sister and one sister Katherine (Howard) Sanford of Portsmouth, OH. In addition to surviving siblings she is survived by three sons; Roger F.(Jo Ann) Willis of Flatwoods, KY, Lloyd Michael (Mary) Willis of Flatwoods, KY and Earl Wayne(Cedora) Willis of Greenup, KY. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Diana(David) Baldridge, Darrell Willis, Danny (Valerie) Willis all of Wurtland, KY, Kevin Willis of Perrysburg, OH, Keith (Tina) Willis, Missie Daniels, and Melanie Cook all of Flatwoods, KY, and Chris( Angie) Willis of Greenup, KY, she is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to her niece Regina Willis for her nursing assistance and help during her illness ad care.

Mrs. Willis was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother to her family.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Carman Funeral Home-Flatwoods, KY at 1:00PM with comforting words spoken by Pastors Jim Pridemore and Ben Gentile. Friends and family may call two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Willis will be her grandsons; Darrell Willis, Danny Willis, Kevin Willis, Keith Willis, Chris Willis, and David Baldridge.

Donations may be made in Memory of Mrs. Willis to the Tyler David Baldridge Foundation Members Choice Credit Union.
